Ycode is available two ways: free forever as Self-host open source, or paid per-project on Ycode Cloud with the Cloud Basic or Cloud Pro plan. Every plan shares the same editor, CMS, forms, localization, and integrations — they differ in hosting, billing, and CMS and language limits.

Self-host
Ycode Open Source is free forever. Fork the repository , deploy on Vercel, connect Supabase, and you own the entire stack.

What you provide
- A Vercel deployment (or any compatible host)

Cloud
Ycode Cloud is the managed offering: hosting, updates, SSL, and a global CDN are all handled for you. Each Cloud project carries its own subscription, on either the Cloud Basic or Cloud Pro plan.

Pick Cloud Basic for a smaller site — a portfolio, a landing page, or a business site with a blog and up to two languages. Pick Cloud Pro when you need more than 5 collections or more than 2 languages.
Projects start on Free with the full editor and CMS so you can build. Free is not a hosting plan — keep the project active, then upgrade when you want the site to stay online. Paid features such as a custom domain unlock on subscribe. See Billing for how to subscribe and manage a project subscription through the Stripe Customer Portal.
A never-subscribed Free project is deleted after 7 days of inactivity. Opening the editor, editing, or publishing resets that clock. A published *.ycode.website site sitting idle still counts as inactive. There is no use case for running a website forever on the free plan — upgrade to paid to host it.
Billing Intervals
Both Cloud plans offer monthly and annual billing. Annual saves about 33% on Cloud Basic ($15/mo monthly → $10/mo annual) and about 17% on Cloud Pro ($30/mo monthly → $25/mo annual).
You pick the plan and interval at checkout. To switch later, open the Stripe Customer Portal from the project’s Billing details menu — the portal lets you change interval, update payment methods, download invoices, and cancel.
Switching Between Plans
Plans aren’t locked. You can move between them at any time:
- Cloud Free → Cloud Basic or Cloud Pro — Subscribe per project from the project menu’s Billing details.
- Cloud Paid → Cloud Free — Cancel the project’s subscription in the Stripe Customer Portal. The project keeps editing access on free; paid features lock until you resubscribe. Previously paid projects are not deleted for inactivity.
- Cloud → Self-host — Use Backup & Restore to export a project from Cloud and import it into a self-hosted Ycode instance.
- Self-host → Cloud — The same backup/restore flow works the other way.
Limits and Notes
- CMS collections — Self-host is unlimited. Cloud Basic allows 5 collections per project, Cloud Pro 50.
- CMS items — Self-host is unlimited. Cloud projects (free or paid) are capped at 20,000 items per project.
- Languages — Self-host and Cloud Pro are unlimited. Cloud Basic allows 2 languages per project.
- Custom domains — Available on Self-host and paid Cloud projects. Free Cloud projects use the
*.ycode.websitesubdomain. - Free project retention — Never-subscribed Free Cloud projects are deleted after 7 days of inactivity. Paid Cloud and Self-host are not.
- Users — Every plan is unlimited. Cloud projects use per-project teams (see Teams).
- Pages and form entries — Unlimited on every plan.
- Support — Community on all plans; email support on Cloud.
- Migrated Legacy customers — Ycode Legacy was shut down on July 1, 2026 and all active projects were migrated. Paid Legacy subscriptions carried over to the new Ycode at their existing price. See the migration note in Billing.
